Why Beerlao
Beerlao is the national beer of Laos and a firm favourite with anyone who's travelled through Southeast Asia. It's been brewed in Vientiane by the Lao Brewery Company since 1973.
The secret is locally grown jasmine rice, blended with imported malt and hops. The result is a smooth, clean, light-bodied lager with a subtly sweet, crisp finish. It has won Monde Selection medals for quality and is widely hailed as one of Asia's best beers.
If you've been to Laos, one sip takes you straight back to a Mekong riverside table in Luang Prabang. If you haven't, this is the easiest way to find out what the fuss is about.
What to drink it with
A crisp, cold Beerlao is made for bold, spicy food. A few of our favourite pairings:
